Who Are You Spending Time With?

Time is a hot commodity that no one in the world can buy more of. No matter what you do, time will continue, never pausing no matter how much you plead. Many people claim that they don't have time for anything. How you spend your time shows your organization skills and productivity. But what's most important is whom you're spending your time with.

Those you spend time with are connected to your interests and level of commitment. When you're committed to something or someone you spend as much time with them as you can. You want to show them that you are interested in them and don't want anyone else. This assures the other person that everything is okay and they made the right in being with you.

Now I have a question for you.

Are you spending time with God?

Many people say they know God so much but they don't seem to give Him any of their time. It's impossible to claim to know someone and never spend time with them. Not spending time with God only means you know of God, like and acquaintance.

Do you only talk to God when you need something from Him? It's not cool to only turn to Him when you need something. If someone did you like that, you would cut them off with the quickness. But we know that God won't cut us off so we tend to toe the line.

Spending time with God allows us to develop an intimate relationship with Him. No one else can do this for you. It's based on your intentionality and if you really want God for whom He is. It's a precious moment that no one can take away from you. It's unique and the way you spend time with Him may be different than other people. For instance, you may have a date night with Jesus or coffee with Jesus. You could go on a picnic, cook a nice meal, watch a movie, or sit and read your bible. It's all about what feels comfortable for you while inviting Him into your everyday life activities. This is a relationship, put your all into it.

It might be weird in the beginning, but set some time aside just for God and please try not to wait until you are tired and then leave Him hanging. You want to start a routine where you go to your special spot and He's waiting for you. Getting to know God is important, but you can only achieve that by spending quality time with Him.
