When life becomes too much to handle and you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, who do you turn to? When your friends and family are putting you down and have deserted you, what do you do?
When you are experiencing a tough situation in your life and it just doesn’t seem to make sense and you wonder if anyone would understand, whom would you talk to?
Whatever problem or situation you are going through in life, no matter how big, how small, or how confusing it may be, remember that God knows exactly what you are going through and He knows how you feel. He wants to be that someone who you can talk or cry to when you are having a bad day. He wants you to be completely honest with Him. God wants you…ALL of you.
Nothing is too big, too small, or too confusing for the Lord. When you give God all of those problems in your life, He will give you strength, joy, and peace that can only come from Him.
I heard this saying, “Do not tell God how big your problem is, but tell your problem how big your God is.” This is so true. Often times, we become overwhelmed by the problems we face in our lives that we forget that the God we serve is all-powerful and all knowing. He is bigger than our problems. When we surrender our problems at the feet of Jesus, our burdens become lighter as we breathe and take in the sweet presence of God.
Sometimes in life, we get discouraged and wonder how or why so many terrible things happen to us in this world. Some people even turn from God because of how bad the situations in their lives get. But Jesus wants us to call on Him and not give up even when we struggle because in this world we will have to go through things.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, NIV)
God will never put more on us than we can handle (1 Corinthians 10:13). He will bless us in the end and help us to persevere. He is right there with us even when we do not feel like He is.
All we need to do is trust Him.
When you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders and life becomes too much to handle, turn to God. When your friends and family desert you, turn to your heavenly Father who will never leave you or forsake you. Whenever you go through a complicated situation, and you think no one would understand, call on Jesus, and He will guide and direct you through it.
