And then it happens... After all your bible studies, going to church on time and being nice to that rude coworker, someone you love dies, and suddenly you feel your faith isn’t strong enough to survive that blow. Or, you’ve tithed all you could in the past and now your bank account is screaming louder than your obedience and reality sets in; you’re faced to choose between tithing or gas.
How about your esteem? I mean how could you have read and listened to all the fearfully and wonderfully made sermons and still suffer from daily insecurities. Has any of this ever been you? Have you’ve ever felt it was hard to hold on to a perfect God in your not so perfect circumstances? And no matter how hard and long you have held on, your problems are JUST TOO REAL for God?
I know this feeling all too well. You see, I had watched my grandmother suffer a series of strokes, while all my relationship fell apart. I then was denied the job of my dreams and not to mention I was broke! So I did what any normal person would do. I kept thinking until nothing changed and I stressed until nothing happened. I just remember feeling I had too much going on than to include God. My faith had to take a back seat to my real life, oh and I needed that tithing money for gas to my next job interview.
So I know how easy it is to get lost in your day-to-day living; and I know it’s even easier to forget God in the midst of issues we deal with on a daily basis. Yet we must remember that the devil and God are both talking into every single occasion of our lives, and the moment we get too overwhelmed, to where we cannot include God, then we’re only leaving room for the enemy to speak louder and more frequently. During the attacks of our daily living we must know, the most fundamental thing we can do is hold tight to our faith, for these are the moments we need it most.
It is by faith we must begin to understand the trials of our lives, even when we see no light, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 We must learn, God isn’t just the God of our beginning and end, but he’s also the God for everything in between. That God is still the same loving God in our broke and brokenness. That God doesn’t only desire to hear from you at your best but is also concerned about your every detail, but it is up to you to include God.
The righteous cry out and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. Psalms 34:17
The issues we face when it comes to the trials of our everyday living is that we haven’t made enough time in all the chaos to submit our situations to God; the beautiful, the bizarre and the broken ones. God desires it all. The healing is in knowing that truth and having faith in it.
So now I ask you, when was the last time you came before God in prayer about everything? NOT when was the last time you mumbled a few verses in attempts to save your soul, or fell asleep talking to God. I ask, when was the last time you truly cast your cares to him, and moved your ego to the side and genuinely surrendered everything before your creator. With a conscious mind of his love and who he is. When was the last time you had confidence in God’s love towards you?
You must understand, whether you choose to acknowledge God or not, he will not leave or forsake you, even when you have left him while you’ve gotten lost in the very trials God wants to love you through. Sometimes the blows of everyday living is enough to knock the wind out of your peace, but we are to pray without ceasing, even if we are praying for strength in front of a casket; even if it means praying to church as we drive on E or ride the bus. We are to pray for our confidence, in who he is calling us to be. Prayer is the evidence of our faith, and we must exercise it into our healing. We must humble ourselves and seek God's refuge, every day, during every trial, for every trouble, with every intention to thrive.
God’s peace that surpasses all understanding is for the very situations we can not understand, the daily trials that just don’t make sense. Know that peace is your super power, in that you are able to hear from God clearly, you are able to love more easily. This is exactly why your peace will be attacked with everyday problems. But in order to find this peace in trials, you must learn to seek God fully and not just sometimes, or for some things, but learn to seek God in all your circumstances.
You must know and believe in your heart, he has risen for your pain, your trials and your stress. You are given the power of peace, love and a sound mind. Don’t let daily trails distract you for what Christ did for you over 2,000 years ago. You are loved and in that believe everything will be more than alright, better. So we challenge you to go pray over your circumstances today, trade in your fluff cotton ball faith, even if it’s for a solid mustard seed and watch your life begin to transform. Be unashamed of the size of your trial, just surrender it all to Christ and watch the impact it will have on your life. Love You
“Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” Psalm 62:8
