Connecting The Broken Hearts To God

Everyday, we are faced with reading about heart breaking and gut wrenching news from across the world. We may wake up happy. However, we must remember someone didn't live to see this day. Someone lost their father, mother, sister, brother, grandparent, aunt, uncle, best friend, or love of their life. Due to recent events of senseless murders in Louisiana, Minnesota, Dallas, Brooklyn, and countless locations that don't reach the media, I am choosing to respond to these tragedies in the only way I know how too.

Please connect your hearts with me as we go to God in prayer.

First, we thank you for your Son, our Savior, our best friend we could ever have, our Redeemer, our Protector, & most precious gift, Jesus. We're hurting right now. We need you right now. Lord, there is a shift happening in this world. A shift that many will be called to exalt your name publicly. Your precious name. The Most High God. There are many who will turn away from you Lord. There are many who will doubt. There are many who will trust other Gods before YOU. However, your children need you right now. We still believe. We come to you with broken pieces of our hearts. We lay these pieces at your feet.

We need your direction right now. To be honest, I am confused on the way that I should go. I know I'm your daughter, called according to your purpose, & should inspire others through this tragedy. I can't help but think of how it could've been me. I can't help but think of how angry I am simply reading my Facebook feed. I can't help but think of how confused on what to do on my part. However, no matter how confused I may be, I know you reign above everything on this Earth. I can't articulate the words that expresses how sad I feel about what's going on in this world.

Oh Jesus, we need you right now. Hearts are trembling. Hearts are weakening. But, I must recall a verse from William McDowell's song called, “As We Worship.”  It simply states, "demons tremble, kings bow down, & lives are changed at the SOUND of your Name." As we move forward with our days on this Earth, more tragedies will present itself. As Believers, we will collectively called upon your Name. We will worship through our tears. We will believe in you every step of the way. No matter what, Jesus! You are the Sovereign God. We love & cherish you. In Jesus' Name, Amen!!

You may be hurting right now. This world may be trying to take its toll on your spirit. We rebuke that attempt in Jesus' Name. May the peace of God be with you. To the souls that are suffering across this nation, I pray the peace of God over your spirit. May this moment of your journey be used for a greater purpose and to give God glory.

Here's a few scriptures to help along this season:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

1 John 4:4
